What we collect

• Registration searches. The registration number you enter, the vehicle details returned, the time of the search and your IP address and browser information (collected for analytics and security).
• Report requests. Your email address, the registration, the vehicle details shown, your consent, the time of the request, and your IP address and browser information (collected for analytics and security).
• Contact messages. Your name, email address, subject, message, and your IP address and browser information (collected for analytics and security).
• Visit data. Pages viewed, form events, a random session identifier used to link the actions in one visit, and your IP address and browser information (user agent). We collect your IP address and browser information with every search, request, message and visit for analytics and security.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. We store a random session identifier in your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab.

How we use it

• To show you vehicle details and to prepare and email the report you ask for (your consent and our need to provide the service you requested).
• To reply to messages you send us.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and understand how the website is used (our legitimate interests).

We do not sell your personal data. We may use your email address to contact you about the report you requested.

Who we share it with

• Vehicle data source. The registration you search is sent to a third-party vehicle data provider so that we can show you vehicle details.
• Service providers. We use Cloudflare for website hosting, security and email forwarding, a hosting provider for our servers, and an email service to receive messages sent to our address.
• Internal systems. Records of searches, requests and messages are copied to our own internal tracking and customer records so we can manage requests.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Report requests and contact messages: up to 12 months.
• Search logs and visit data: up to 90 days.
• Cached vehicle lookups: up to 30 days.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw consent at any time. To do so, email info@bikeregcheck.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored on servers with restricted access. No system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information through the contact form.

Independence and accuracy

BikeRegCheck is an independent service and is not affiliated with the DVLA, DVSA, GOV.UK or any motorcycle manufacturer. Vehicle information is provided for guidance only and may be incomplete or out of date.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
